Hangzhou Tianziling Domestic Waste Sanitary Landfill Site is located in the Qinglongwu Valley of Tianziling Mountain, Shitang Village, Banshan Town, the northern suburb of Hangzhou. It is a large-scale valley landfill that meets the national sanitary standard of the Ministry of Construction. It was put into use in April and has Grade A environmental protection operation qualification and engineering consulting level II qualification.
As a national biogas power generation project, the Tianziling Landfill has used Cat G3516A gas generator sets for waste disposal and energy recovery in 1998.
The Tianziling Landfill is designed to use new technologies to recover energy and resources from waste, thereby reducing environmental impact. Today, the landfill has 12 Cat G3516A generator sets, consuming an average of 175,000 m3 of landfill gas per day, generating 280,000 kWh of electricity, equivalent to the daily electricity consumption of 120,000 households, and the equivalent of 1,800 tons of carbon dioxide equivalent, saving 40. Tons of standard coal.
In September 2017, another three containerized Cat G3516A will be put into operation at the Tianziling Landfill. At that time, Tianziling will become a biogas power generation project with large installed capacity in East China.
