Gas power generation case--Wuxi Tianshun Landfill

Wuxi Taohuashan Landfill is a domestic waste sanitary landfill in Wuxi City, located in the foothills of Taohua Mountain in the western suburbs of Wuxi City. The site is a typical valley landfill, built in the early 1990s and covers an area of 406 acres. The amount of landfill is 2,600 tons per day, which is equivalent to 2/3 of the entire domestic garbage in Wuxi.

Wuxi Tianshun Landfill has added two Cat® CG170-16 container gas generators in 2016 following the adoption of two Cat® G3516 gas generators in 2004. The project is provided by Lixingxing Machinery to provide a complete power generation solution, including generator sets, containers, parallel control, cooling system, lubrication system, ventilation system, and the auxiliary equipment is armored. The whole system is compact in structure, high in integration, and greatly shortens the installation time. The project is put into production two months ahead of schedule, bringing greater benefits to customers.

Since the operation of the new unit, the total amount of landfill gas consumed is 52,800 m3 per day, generating more than 100,000 kWh of electricity, equivalent to 2,500 households' daily electricity consumption. The daily CO2 emissions are reduced by nearly 420 tons, and the standard coal is saved by nearly 35 tons per day compared with the same capacity coal-fired machine.
